Kick off the first night of Hannukah with the Israeli String Ensemble. As the harp, mandolin and guitar together create a sound that is perfectly balanced and unified, yet exquisitely colorful and diverse. With its high level ensemble playing, Prototip is the plucked string version of familiar chamber ensemble prototypes such as the string quartet and the wind quintet.

This 20-piece authentic Swing Era band, led by Steve Shaiman, will thrill you with the brassy Christmas carols of Stan Kenton (in recognition of the Kenton centennial), and highlights from The Nutcracker Suite, as arranged by Duke Ellington, Shorty Rogers and Les Brown (in recognition of Brown’s 100th birthday!), plus there will be a some really swingin’ Chanukah tunes to celebrate the Festival of Lights! Vocalists Bobbie Ruth and Jerry Costanzo bring it all home for the holidays with classic seasonal standards from the Great American Songbook.
